My special interests in the practice are diabetes, general medicine and medical education. I am one of the trainers at the practice responsible for teaching future GPs. Outside interest include playing music and mountain biking. I work as a job share with my wife, Dr Jane Jenkinson and generally work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Practice Clinical Pharmacist

The surgery employs a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Clerks to help manage our patients's prescription requests, medication reviews and changes efficiently and safely. Our Clinical Pharmacist also sees patients for some Annual Reviews of long term conditions such as Diabetes and Hypertension. Our Clinical Pharmacy Team do NOT work for the Charter Pharmacy on site which is run by Ackers.

Rebecca Brown

Practice Clinical Pharmacist

Rebecca helps the surgery to ensure that your medications are reviewed and are kept up to date, for instance after a stay in hospital. Rebecca also does some telephone and face to face reviews for patients with long term conditions such as diabetes.

We are very pleased to welcome Tony, the latest member of our pharmacy team. Tony comes with a wealth of hospital and community pharmacy experience and has worked in mental health in the past. He will be helping ensure your medicines are safely prescribed and monitored. He is part of a pharmacy team shared with Trinity Medical Centre nearby

Catharina De Farias

Senior Pharmacy Technician

Catharina started with us in September 2019. She is a very experienced pharmacy technician having been a fully qualified clinical pharmacist in her home country of Brazil. Catharina has worked in hospital pharmacies ensuring medications are safe and appropriate for all patients.

GP Registrars

We are a training practice for GP Registrars. A GP Registrar is an experienced doctor who has decided to specialise in general practice to become a GP. The Registrar is fully supervised by one of our qualified doctors. You will be told when you book your appointment if you are seeing the Registrar. You may choose to see a GP instead. The practice is inspected for training which involves examination of medical records. Only approved doctors will do this and they will respect the confidentiality of all information. The Registrar is usually based in the practice initially for a few months and then they return for a longer period at a later date.

Dr Morgan joined the team in December 2018. She will be with us part time until April 2021

Dr Gould Brown joined the team in August 2019 as a final year doctor in training. She will be with us until August 2020

Nurse Practitioners

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are qualified to do most of the things a GP can do (see exceptions below) and can diagnose, prescribe medication, and refer to other services / hospital. ANP appointments should be used as an alternative to an appointment with a Doctor. ANPs are NOT part of our Practice Nursing Team and should NOT be used for Practice Nursing Team appointments. Please see the Appointments section of this website for a full list of they types of appointments which should be booked with our Practice Nursing team. ANPs cannot Issue Sick Notes, treat pregnancy related problems or treat mental / emotion health problems, In these cases please book an appointment with a Doctor.

Kerry has an interest in community care and advanced care planning particularly for frail and elderly patients. She looks after patients at a local care homes

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Sue has qaulified as an advanced nurse practitioner and is able to prescribe and refer just like a doctor

Jenny Lamper

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Jenny specialises in Women's health 'below the waist and above the knee' and the menopause / HRT. Jenny cannot be booked online or on our Automated Telephone system.

Elizabeth Wood

Nurse Practitioner

Elizabeth is a Nurse Practitioner with additional qualification of Nurse Prescriber - able to issue prescriptions in her own name. Elizabeth specialises in diabetes and blood pressure management Elizabeth DOES still work as part of our PRACTICE NURSE TEAM and CAN be booked for the routine nurse appointments listed on the Appointments Page of this website.

Alexandra Rose

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Alex joined the Advanced Nurse Practitioner team in 2019. She sees mainly acute presentations of conditions like sore throats, urine infections and muscular problems. She does not see acute psychiatric problems or very little babies

Nurses

Our Nursing Team is made up of Practice Nurses (qualified and registered nurses) together with Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomist who does Blood Tests. Our Nursing Team can help with a wide range of health issues and also run clinics for long-term health conditions. Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (Blood Tests), blood pressure measurement and New Patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor asks for one. Phlebotomists are trained to take blood.

Community Midwives

Your community midwives are: Jenny Hawke, Ruth Loska and Sue Forrest - part of the West team of midwives. They are not based at the surgery but operate from Conway Court. Community Nurses

The Integrated Primary Care Team provide nursing care for patients in their own homes. They are based at Conway Court Clinic in Hove during the day. They can be contacted on 01273 728281

Health Visitors

Telephone: 01273 728281 Children's health visitors are specialist nurses who give advice to families with young children. They are based at Children’s Centres which offer a range of specialist services for families as part of the Sure Start Community Under 5's Teams. Your local children's centre is allocated according to where you live but most of our patients will be allocated to Conway Court Clinic and Children's Centre, Hove.

Attached Staff

Other NHS clinicians and services using room space at Charter Medical Centre - Michaela Walsh, Brighton Substance Misuse Service - runs a clinic once per week. Rupert Brooker, SMILES Liaison Nurse.
