Please continue to STAY AWAY from our Reception Desk unless we have asked you to attend surgery, OR you are unable to use the Telephone or the Internet.

Everything you need can now be reached using our Internet services,  or  our Telephone services if you do not have Internet. 

Surgery half day Closure Dates

We sometimes need to close the surgery for an afternoon to provide training time for staff and clinicians.  

Please note that when training falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, Charter extended hours evening clinics will run as normal from 18:30

If you have an urgent problem which cannot wait until we re-open, please telephone the surgery;  our answer machine will tell you a telephone number to call for Our of Hours Service. 


Tuesday 26th April - Part closure of surgery

Please note that on Tuesday 26th April we have a Training afternoon;

  • Surgery phone lines will be closed from 12:30 to 18:30 and there will be no urgent GP service. 
  • If your problem is too urgent to wait until we re-open the next day please telephone the surgery on 01273 770555-  a recording will give you the number to call for our Out of Hours service.
  • A few pre-booked clinics will still run in the afternoon and evening. 
  • There will be a skelaton reception staff for patients attending appointments only

     to get a response from the surgery by the end of the next workng day (Monday to Friday excluding Public holidays)

Brighton Station Clinic for Minor Illnesses and Injuries and Sexual Health

Open 8am – 8pm, seven days a week (including bank holidays) 

DUE TO CORONAVIRUS THIS IS NO LONGER A WALK-IN SERVICE.  All patients must call the service first to arrange a telephone triage with a clinician.  Please call 0300 130 3333 for assistance. 
There is no need to be a registered patient with Practice Plus Brighton Station to use their service, it is available to everyone in Brighton and Hove.
They offer treatment, information and advice for a range of minor illnesses and injuries. It’s open every day 8am-8pm, including bank holidays. For more information their services including waiting times and appointments, please call 0333 321 0946.

Evening and Weekend appointments with the Improving Access Service at Charter Surgery or Trinity Surgery


This NHS service offers evening and weekend appointments with Doctors and other health professionals.   With your permission, the IAS clinician is able to remotely view and edit the electronic medical record held by your own GP Surgery. 

The IAS clinic is located at Charter Medical Centre or Trinity Medical Centre (near George Street) on a 3 month rotation. 

You may be able to see your own Doctor if they are working for the EHS service.  

To book an IAS Appointment at either Charter or Trinity, telephone Charter Medical Centre Reception 01273 770555 Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. 

To request an IAS same day appointments at the weekend,  telephone 111 for the NHS 111 Service. 

Patients must give consent for their notes to be both read, and added to.

Charter Pharmacy Opening Times

The pharmacy onsite is provided by Ackers Chemists and is completely independent from the GP Practice Charter Medical Centre.
